“These days, there are angry ghosts all around us. Dead from wars, sickness, starvation, and nobody cares. So - you say you’re under a curse. So what, so’s the whole damn world.”—Jigo, Princess Mononoke
With pleasure we herewith reveal the entire tracklist and the cover artwork of the “Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings” compilation. One of the highlights on it is certainly Empyrium’s contribution – the ensemble’s first new recording in four years and the impressive beginning of a new creative period. Also featured are the genre’s founding fathers, Ulver, with a very rare recording from 1997: their track ‘Synen’ was only featured on a very limited underground compilation and is probably the Norwegians’ most sought-after song. The contributions by bands such as October Falls, Nest, Neun Welten and many others are also delivering the goods and certainly bear comparison with the genre’s founding fathers. The enchanting cover artwork courtesy of Fursy Teyssier (Les Discrets) tops off a release that, because of its musical content, is certainly going to remain a unique and unrivalled audio document for a long time.

“Pericynthion - The point in the orbit of a satellite around the moon that is nearest to the moon.
This is the first track on my October 14th release entitled “Upon Which Was Written Within The Stars”. I personally think the ep works best a whole piece. Every song was inspired by the stars and written in four consecutive nights. One for each movement. Each song is the original recording taken from the night i wrote it.
Pericynthion is meant to sound as if the moon was close enough for you to stand on your tip toes and touch it.
Please listen to this music quietly, alone & with patience.” Nhor.
Today, graffiti fans and art collectors will be able to purchase a limited edition box-set of prints from some of the leading names on the London graffiti scene. However, this box-set comes with a difference. The owner will also receive a percentage share in a new graffiti documentary film that is currently in production. This is the first time that a film has been funded through graffiti art sales.
Burning Candy (Cept, Cyclops, Dscreet, Gold Peg, LLB, Mighty Mo, Rowdy, Sweet Toof and Tek33) are currently making a new film Dots, which follows each artist on a journey around the world, as they visit the places and cultures that most inspire their artistic style, in order to discover how they can take their own work further. Not content to go about making a documentary in the traditional way, Dots is directed by The Baron, a former elusive member of Burning Candy. Drawing on his own prodigious talents as a graffiti artist and filmmaker, the Baron is able to access this closely guarded underground scene with a level of insight that few, if any, other documentarians have been able to achieve before.
To fund the film, BC produced a limited edition box-set of nine prints, one from each artist. These highly desirable sets are bound to become collectors’ items immediately – Mighty Mo recently released a set of prints which sold out in less than two hours. The box-set includes a certificate of authenticity, which gives the owner a 0.05% share of the film’s profits for the next 10 years and a co-producer credit on the film. In this way, the profits from the prints will fund the film.
